Shilla and Zeev's Wedding

We left Shilla and Zeev's wedding thinking about how incredibly unique it was, and about how much fun their guests were having. Their ceremony (or, ceremonies, I should say) were both held at the Won Dharma Center with stunning views, and amazing architecture. Early in the day, there was a small ceremony for family which incorporated both Shilla's family's Korean wedding traditions and Zeev's family's Jewish wedding traditions.

After the private ceremony, Shilla and Zeev changed and prepared for the full ceremony with all their guests.
Ok - prepare yourself for the most adorable first look ever!
Zeev designed the wedding invitations and programs.
The ceremony began with a song from The Late Show Gospel Choir! So unique.
After the ceremony ended, we made our way over to The Hill for the cocktail hour and reception.
Guests left notes for the new bride and groom on polaroid photos of themselves.
The flower vases were made by Shilla's stepfather, the sculptor.
At each place setting was a surprise! Shilla's stepfather made these gorgeous bowls for everyone!
The dance floor was so packed, it was bouncing and felt like it could almost fall down.

Congratulations Shilla and Zeev!!

Rosma & David's Destination Wedding: Bolivia!

Rosma and David's one-year anniversary just passed! Happy Anniversary! The two of them were married in Bolivia, where Rosma grew up. The photos from their breathtaking wedding have been featured on Martha Stewart Weddings and The Bride's Guide, but I thought I'd share a few more. The entire week was breathtaking. Rosma did an unbelievable job planning and decorating, down to the very last detail.

Rosma drew inspiration from the gorgeous church in Concepcion where the ceremony was held. She used details from the church in her guest book and invitations, and even designed the stamp with an image from the church's facade.

The bride and groom wore lovely rings from Doyle & Doyle.
Rosma had these lovely earrings specially made for the wedding.
These angels were carved by Sebastian Espinoza in the Baroque mestizo style, and hand painted by his wife. Each guest arrived at the reception to find one of these decorating their place setting. The backs are stamped with Rosma and David's initials as well as their wedding date.
The couple celebrated with a cocktail hour at the hotel prior to the evening ceremony.

Some of the details:

Congratulations Rosma and David!

In the next post, I'll share some of the photos we took at Rosma's parent's house in the mountains. It's gorgeous, I promise.

Catherine & Matt's Wedding

Catherine and Matt had an amazing wedding at The Kaaterskill Inn in the Hudson Valley. It was a brisk fall day, with lots of great details. Here are some of my favorite photos from the day.
 Monogrammed pillows!
Catherine made the bouquets of lavender for herself and her bridesmaids.
Cat wore a gorgeous, classic dress from J. Crew, and paired it with some purple Michael Kors wedges. It had been raining the days before the wedding, so Cat was prepared with some purple wellies!
The ring bearer and flower girl.
I love how all the guys wore different variations of purple gingham.
Instead of a traditional guest book, Cat and Matt's wedding guests left their thumbprints on this poster that Cat ordered through Etsy.
The napkin rings were made from childhood photographs of the bride and groom!
Special mason jar mugs and straws for the smaller guests.
Seating assignments were clipped to individual leaves hanging at the barn.

Congratulations Cat & Matt!!

Kate's Best Friend's Wedding

Kate contacted me recently because her best friend just got married, and she wanted to give the newlyweds an illustration of mine to celebrate! I'm so honored to have been asked to make this piece. Congratulations to the lovely couple!

Cat & Christian's Lovely Farm Wedding

After Cat and Christian's amazing engagement shoot, which was recently featured on Merci New York, I knew their wedding would be just phenomenal. It took place on the beautiful grounds on Liberty View Farm in the Hudson Valley, and was attended by lots of vibrant, friendly and gorgeous guests!
Cat wore a beautiful lace gown by Rachel Zoe. Love the open back.
Cat wanted to surprise Christian and all of her guests with a little treat at their wedding. So, unbeknownst to anyone, Cat took lessons on the ukelele, and during the cocktail hour, she jumped up and joined the band. She played and sang for two songs. Needless to say, all of their guests were blown away. What a cool surprise!
An impromptu game of hide and seek broke out during the cocktail hour.
Cat gave Sarah, who officiated the ceremony, a ring with her initials, and Cat's earrings matched.
Cat and Christian's guest book was a wooden tree puzzle. Their each signed a piece.
This lovely cake was made by Cat and Christian's mothers.
As the sun set, the guests launched lanterns up into the evening sky.

Congratulations Cat and Christian!!
